EP.3 of the Tulips Bloom Quilt Series

Mastering half square triangles - Episode 3 of the The Tulips Bloom quilt series. In this episode we are looking at how I make my hst’s for the Tulips Bloom quilt. The half square triangles are a simple and versatile unit, and are one of the main staples of my quilt patterns.

I make my hst’s using one particular method, but as we know, there are lots of different ways to make hst’s.

Episode 3 of the Tulips Bloom Quilt Series.

I show you a couple of different ways on how I trim my hst’s. I like to use creative grids rulers for trimming up, I show you how to trim with a normal straight edge ruler, I am using the Perfect 5 ruler, but any ruler with a 45 degree angle line will work. I also trim with the smaller stripology ruler, and it is great for trimming those larger squares.

I have added the link below if you wanted to go and check out Gudren’s website, and see her selection of rulers.

Both are quick and easy ways to trim up your hst’s, and it is one of the first jobs I do after getting my fabric cut out.
