Welcome to episode 7 of the The Tulips Bloom quilt series, this episode is about quilting the Tulips Bloom Quilt. I talk about thread selection, stitch length, quilting gloves and lots more. But first I made sure my sewing machine was lovely and clean, and I had a brand new needle on, ready to go.

I like to audition my threads, and lay them out on top of my quilt top, and also check what is going to work with the fabric on the back of my quilt. I like to use Aurifil thread, and always make sure that the needle matches the weight of the thread that I am using.

I like to test out my stitches before I get started for tension, making sure that everything is stitching out lovely before I actually get started on my quilt. There is nothing worse than starting quilting and you have to unpick because something is just not quite right.

I let you know which stitch length I use and how I am going to quilt my quilt.

I also show you the quilting gloves that I use, which really helps with my quilting.
